Just a reminder that the last day to collect box tops for our winter drive is Friday, Feb. 8. You can send them in with your student. Classrooms who donate the most box tops will receive a PTO-sponsored pizza party in their classroom.
Thank you to all students, parents and staff who have participated in the fall Box Top Drive. We converted the box tops into $1,950 to purchase equipment and supplies for Timber Ridge.
Skate North Incrediroll, 5621 Meredith Drive, Des Moines, hosts Timber Ridge Night from 6 to
8 pm on Thursday, Feb. 21. The cost is $6 per student.
Attendance helps the PTO raise funds in order to provide skates for TR’s learn to skate PE rotation for second through fifth graders.

Mark your calendar…February 11 is “The Day of Chocolate” for the Timber Ridge Staff. We are celebrating our staff and teachers for the month with Chocolate Day on Monday, Feb. 11. Bring bag of M&Ms, a decadent homemade dessert, anything chocolate . . .
Thanks to all the students, parents, teachers and staff who donated items for TR’s Purple Party effort. Donations for gift basket items allowed the basket team to put together 23 gift baskets to auction at the event, held on Feb. 2. Some baskets were valued at $100 or more!
In addition, we had close to 200 2-liter bottles of pop donated, along with cakes and chips. This was a productive year for Timber Ridge and the Purple Party! Many others donated their time to work at Purple Party. Thanks to all for your support.
The February PTO meeting at 7 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 12, will be a joint elementary PTO meeting with all five elementaries meeting at Timber Ridge. Johnston Schools Superintendent Clay Guthmiller will speak to PTOs from all five elementary schools. He will discuss current issues impacting the Johnston School District. After the presentation, PTO groups will conduct their own individual meetings in separate, designated areas at Timber Ridge.
Our classrooms are waiting for material that needs to be trimmed and assembled so that it can start being used in the classroom. This includes supporting games and materials for the Everyday Math Curriculum. By having these items available in the classroom, you can make an impact on helping our students strengthen their math, reading and other academic skills.
We have an immediate “Trimmer’s Team” session coming up on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting in the Office Workroom. Parents, grandparents and other family members are invited to help out so that these resources are available as soon as possible. Late-comers are welcome. Stay as long as your schedule allows. For planning purposes, it would help if you sign up at VolunteerSpot by visiting: http://vols.pt/pdzRsh. Or contact Robin Ehredt, email@example.com or 229-8172.

- Build our organization by increasing membership and participation
- Streamline and standardize our procedures
- Have some fun and support positive interactions among members, staff and students
We will be adding new information in the days and weeks to come.
