2018-2019 Grant Recipients

For the members of the Timber Ridge PTO, the statement “Working together to provide our students with the best possible learning experience” is a defining goal. Our efforts are focused on improving the Timber Ridge experiences for all members of our Timber Ridge community–the staff, the students, and the parents.

In the fall of 2018, we used the money donated from the Un-fundraiser to grant the following teacher requests:

Grants impacting all grade levels

  • ESOL: Set of National Geographic REACH English Language Learners books.
  • Library & Computer Lab: Kid Pix Update partially funded (all students)
  • Special Education: Materials for enhanced communication and skill building (1 classroom)
  • Building: US Flags for open areas to ensure engagement with Pledge of Allegiance.

Grants impacting specific grades:

  • 1st Grade: Learning tools for all classrooms.
  • 2nd Grade: Flexible seating for increased engagement (1 classroom).
  • 3rd Grade: Flexible seating for increased engagement (2 classroom)
  • 4th Grade: Flexible seating for increased engagement
  • 5th grade: High quality writing materials (all classrooms).
  • 5th Grade: Flexible seating for increased engagement

In the spring of 2019, we used the money donated from the Un-fundraiser to grant the following teacher requests:

Grants impacting all grade levels

  • Reading: Reading Binders.
  • Library: Addition of the 2019-2020 Iowa Award Books
  • Special Education: Materials for enhanced communication and skill building (1 classroom)

Grants impacting specific grades:

  • Kindergarten: Literacy and math centers.
  • 2nd Grade: Books for interactive read aloud/shared reading extravaganza (all classroom).
  • 3rd Grade: Mystery literacy unit (all classrooms)
  • 3rd Grade: Gather around the library (1 classroom)
  • 4th Grade: Flexible seating for increased engagement
  • 4th Grade: Furniture for Birch Community (stained during Dragon Dream Day)
  • 5th grade: Lucy Calkins westward expansion.
